Lady Banton

“Music can unite and delight.

People can connect through music whether they share a mutual language or not and it can soothe in ways that are indefinable,” says Freya Barnes, known across Melbourne dance floors’ as Lady Banton.

With impassioned love of Jamaican music, Lady Banton is renown for her infections rhythms and inciting a ‘grindy mayhem of bodies’ . Armed with music from around the globe, she says; “I pride myself on seducing people into dancing, getting those subconscious head nods at the bar, then people standing on the edges, sliding into the middle until there’s a heaving dance floor of people having a bunch of fun.”
